OPEN CALL ISSUE 02: CONTRAST

ISSUE 02 is on the way, and we want you in it!

We're once again looking for contributions from talented young photographers and writers. Starting October 2025, submissions are now open! The theme for this edition is CONTRAST. We invite you to think about contrast in its different forms; in literary concepts such as paradoxes and in photographic visualisations of light, colour, subject, and more. We are especially drawn to the contrasts you see in the world around you. To find it in similarity, difference, beauty, ugliness, peace, war, oppression and freedom. In this issue, we hope to bring these contrasts in art and society to light, and hope you can contribute!

Just like ISSUE 01, this edition will be exactly 100 A4 pages. It will also once more be printed on photographic paper by Fujifilm, the highest quality photopaper available, with WAER being the first and only magazine in the world to use it.
